We acknowledge gratefully the grant of $10,000 from the Community Trust of Mid & South Canterbury towards our new hall.

The Project Stage 1

We are involved in an exciting project to rebuild our old hall to a comfortable, user friendly modern facility that is appropriate to the needs of the many different groups in our community.  Here's a link to a news article about our project New Hall Article.
This is a real team effort from the whole church and many parts of the wider community.
The first stage involves redeveloping the section of our Manse into our new car park.

Stage 2 - Deconstruction and Demolition

The second part of this project involves deconstructing the old hall and demolishing the old foundations. This link If-these-walls-could-speak shows some photos during deconstruction and gives one persons thoughts. The day the roof came off was exciting, and not without it's dramas! The old hall was mostly gone by mid September and by mid October the deconstruction and de nailing was completed thanks to a small army of volunteers and the site was cleared ready for the laying out of the new foundations.

The rebuilding stage

In mid October 2013 the actual rebuilding finally started. Watch the progress.

In late 2017 we completed (well 99%) the project and gained Council sign off on all matters of compliance. With our Building WOF now issued we are able to use our new facility as intended.

From early 2018 an increasing number of church and community groups have been enjoying our facilities. Groups ranging from our Youth and Seniors Groups, a Photographic Club and a Rose Society through to local Funeral Directors using it for non church funerals. It has added a much needed up to date venue to the local area.

We are really proud of our achievement in bringing this beautiful facility to a point where it is of real value to our local community. The fact that this was achieved with mostly volunteer labour is a credit to all those involved in the process.
