We acknowledge gratefully the grant of $10,000 from the Community Trust of Mid & South Canterbury towards our new hall.

The Project Stage 1

We are involved in an exciting project to rebuild our old hall to a comfortable, user friendly modern facility that is appropriate to the needs of the many different groups in our community.  Here's a link to a news article about our project New Hall Article.
This is a real team effort from the whole church and many parts of the wider community.
The first stage involves redeveloping the section of our Manse into our new car park.

Stage 2 - Deconstruction and Demolition

The second part of this project involves deconstructing the old hall and demolishing the old foundations. This link If-these-walls-could-speak shows some photos during deconstruction and gives one persons thoughts. The day the roof came off was exciting, and not without it's dramas! The old hall was mostly gone by mid September and by mid October the deconstruction and de nailing was completed thanks to a small army of volunteers and the site was cleared ready for the laying out of the new foundations.

The rebuilding stage

In mid October 2013 the actual rebuilding finally started. Watch the progress.

We are now up to the carpeting stage and, as is pretty normal, funds are getting tight. The plan is to lay carpet tiles throughout the facility and the cost of that is around $13,500. We are conducting a special fundraising drive for this which includes the set up of a "give-a-little" page. If you would like to contribute here is the link to the page Carpet our new hall
